Valley of the Sun Active 20-30 Club’s Holiday Wine Soiree is Back and Better than Ever

The Valley of the Sun Active 20-30 Club will host its sixth annual Holiday Wine Soiree on Friday, Nov. 22 at The Mint in Old Town Scottsdale. Long lauded as among the swankiest wine evenings in the Valley, this year the event will feature hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment by Jordan Benson, dancing, a photo booth, and additional surprises and–of course–wine! Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance, an organization dedicated to alleviating hunger in Arizona, along with other Valley Kids Foundation (VKF) beneficiaries.

“Our Holiday Wine Soiree was a huge success last year and we’ve made improvements this year, which are bound to make it an even better event,” said Ashley Preach, vice president of fundraising for Valley of the Sun Active 20-30 Club. “We are proud to benefit St. Mary’s Food Bank, amongst other VKF beneficiaries, and hope the donations make a significant impact this holiday season.”

This year’s event sponsors include Schmitt Jewelers, UMB Bank, Express Promotions and Craft’s Quality Glass, who’ve helped to put together a champagne and diamonds raffle that includes gift certificates to Schmitt Jewelers (just in time for the holidays!), and vacation packages to Palm Strings, the JW Marriott and Valley Ho.

According to Preach, guests can expect to sample wines including Montpellier and Drops of Jupiter, among others. Music fans will recognize the name Drops of Jupiter as one of the biggest hits from the band Train–and no, it isn’t a coincidence the wine shares the name with the song. As one might expect, the wine is, indeed, the brainchild of the band itself as part of its “Save Me San Francisco” Wine Club.

Holiday Wine Soiree tickets can be purchased online for $40 (general admission) and $75 (VIP) here. Tickets will also be sold at the door. Raffle tickets will be sold for $5 each or five tickets for $20. Attendees that bring five canned food items will receive one raffle ticket to be entered to win one of five exciting prizes.

Valley of the Sun Active 20-30 Club provides women an opportunity to serve the community, while building lasting friendships and rendering service to youth. Throughout the years, the organization has accomplished this goal by providing money for local children’s charities and “hands on” interaction with children in need. Since 1988, the club has contributed more than $500,000 to children’s charities.
