Celebrate the Holidays at Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel

Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel and District American Kitchen and Wine Bar are setting the scene for a festive holiday month with hotel specials, dining events and décor to amaze both children and adults.

Those in need of a mini-staycation with the family, a home away from home this Christmas or time to connect with friends over the holiday season can take advantage Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel’s special holiday pricing, beginning at $99. Discover a winter wonderland of festive decorations, special holiday events and delicious holiday cuisine!

Guests can visit anytime throughout the month to enjoy the festive atmosphere where the hotel’s Park Lobby Lounge will be transformed into a gingerbread house village creatively decorated to the theme of “The Polar Express.” A magnificent, 12-foot Christmas tree will serve as the centerpiece of the lounge with more than a dozen other Christmas trees, a custom train set, twinkling lights, poinsettias and holiday wreaths adorning the rest of the hotel.

For its fifth year, the hotel’s gingerbread house contest will showcase unique creativity and entries will remain on display throughout the holiday season. The three chosen winners will be awarded a monetary donation to Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. This year’s gingerbread house theme takes inspiration from the movie, “The Polar Express,” and finalists will be judged in mid-December.

District American Kitchen and Wine Bar will host several can’t miss events for the family. December 14 and 15 will feature the Annual Breakfast with Santa Claus from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests will feast on a bountiful buffet of made-to-order omelets, a ham carving station, a bloody Mary bar and endless mimosas, with the chance to decorate cookies together. Santa Claus will make a guest appearance with photo opportunities for the children. Breakfast with Santa Claus is $31 for adults and $15.50 for children 12 and younger.

A three-course Christmas Day Dinner will be served at District American between 11:30 a.m. and 9 p.m. First course is a choice of wild mushroom bisque with crispy shallots and opal basil or roasted baby beets and Brussels sprouts with Crow’s dairy whipped goat cheese and agave mustard vinaigrette. The second course is a choice of Christmas ham with Saigon cinnamon glaze, herb marinated beef rib-eye with tamarind jus, or grilled salmon with fennel and chestnut salad; both are served with Yukon smashed potatoes with mama’s gravy, citrus zest green beans, and MJ pull-apart rolls with garden herb butter. Last but not least, the third course is a salted-caramel and hazelnut truffle tart with sweet cherry ice cream and hazelnut dust. Christmas Day Dinner is $32 for adults, $16 for children 12 and younger, and $16 for the wine pairing.

Hog Nog SMAlso, don’t miss Mixologist Matt Tobey’s Hog Nog cocktail, in honor of the downtown Phoenix Spirits of the Season cocktail competition, which is available for $9 during the holiday season. The Hog Nog features Schreiner’s bacon, infused with Rogue hazelnut spice rum, house-made cinnamon eggnog and a candied bacon garnish. Ten other downtown Phoenix restaurants are participating in this year’sDowntown Phoenix Partnership Spirits of the Season competition.  Running through December 18, vote on your favorite of the cocktails! The winner will be announced December 20, and cocktails will remain available through the first of the year.
